This webinar explores the design of concrete elements for fire resistance. Concrete performs well under fire exposure because it is non-combustible, does not contribute to fire load, and does not emit toxic smoke. Its relatively low thermal conductivity also helps protect the inner core of an element, allowing it to retain structural capacity during prolonged fire exposure.

Despite these inherent advantages, fire resistance must still be carefully considered in structural design. This webinar explains the principles of designing concrete structures for fire in accordance with Eurocode 2-1-2. It will guide participants through the process of determining required concrete cover and minimum member dimensions for fire exposure conditions.
