Visual concrete exemple projects

The NSCS v5 recommends that design teams use example projects within their concrete specification to allow the design, client and contractor teams to discuss and agree the expected standards for visual concrete on a project during the tender process.

The Concrete Centre have started and will continue to collate a selection of visual concrete example projects that demonstrate plain and special visual finishes. These are all practical completed examples of structural concrete finishes enabling design and delivery teams to agree on acceptable standards before concrete is poured.

All of the projects listed on this page are located in the UK and contain areas of visual concrete that are publicly accessible. Each example project comes with an additional downloadable datasheet identifying, where known, the type(s) of finish and relevant matters such as type of construction, concrete mix design and formface type. The data sheets are intended for initial referencing only and design and delivery teams should visit a range of example projects in person to identify the finishes and details relevant to their specific projects.

There are also a number of CONSTRUCT Example Panels across the UK which can be used as references for Ordinary and Plain finishes. Details can be found here

If you are working on or have recently completed a visual concrete project using the NSCS and think your project could be a useful to add to The Concrete Centre’s Visual Concrete Example Project database please contact info@concretecentre.com
