Flat slabs Flat slabs are highly versatile elements widely used in construction, providing minimum depth, fast construction and allowing flexible column grids.
Floor screeds A floor screed is usually a cementitious material applied onto either a solid in-situ concrete ground floor slab or onto a precast concrete floor unit. There are many proprietary screeds on the market and information about these can be obtained from the manufacturer.
Hollowcore slabs Hollowcore slabs derive their name from the voids or cores which run through the units. The cores can function as service ducts and significantly reduce the self-weight of the slabs, maximising structural efficiency.
Post-tensioned (PT) slabs Post-tensioned (PT) slabs offer the thinnest slab type and long spans can also be achieved. PT slabs use high-strength tensioned steel strands to compress the slabs, keeping the majority of the concrete in compression.
Ribbed and waffle slabs Ribbed and waffle slabs provide a lighter and stiffer slab than an equivalent flat slab, reducing the amount of concrete needed.
TermoDeck TermoDeck is a system that uses the thermal mass in hollowcore concrete floors to provide low energy heating and cooling.
