Post-tensioned concrete: latest guidance

Recorded:Thursday 06 November 2025

CPD:1 hours

Post-tensioned (PT) concrete slabs offer some of the most efficient and slender structural solutions available, leveraging concrete’s compressive strength and enabling longer spans with reduced deflection. This recording of an in-person seminar explored the latest developments in post-tensioning technology and design, including an update on the newly-updated TR43 guidance, published by The Concrete Society.

The seminar began with the prize giving for Structural Concrete 2025, the engineering student competition run by The Concrete Centre and sponsored by CARES.

Session includes:

  • The key updates and implications of the revised TR43 on post-tensioning.
  • The use of fibre-reinforced PT slabs, combining materials innovation with structural efficiency.
  • A compelling case study on the use of PT in the large-scale redevelopment of the Elephant and Castle Shopping Centre and the adjacent University of the Arts London (UAL) site.

Intended for:

This seminar is ideal for structural engineers, architects and construction professionals seeking to stay current with best practices and cutting-edge applications in post-tensioned concrete.
