The Build Show, part of UK Construction Week, returns to Birmingham NEC on the 9-11th October 2018 uniting all types of professions in the industry including housebuilders, authorities, merchants, contractors, developers, interior designers, distributors and many more.

Elaine Toogood, Senior Architect at The Concrete Centre will be presenting on Hybrid Concrete Offsite Solutions as part of the main stage seminars.

The advantages of factory production combined with the inherent benefits of concrete provide compelling reasons to use concrete, from the construction process through to the whole life of a building. Precast concrete is virtually unlimited in its application, is suitable for single and multi-storey construction, and is available in variety of component types. A thorough consideration of construction options at an early design stage is critical to optimise speed of construction, structural performance, and delivery of the most economical and appropriate design for each project.

This presentation explores the range of offsite options available using concrete, with advice on optimising their design. This includes making the case for efficient construction by combining a mix of methods such as cast ‘in situ’ and factory produced units. The presentation explores an efficient approach to construction by combining a range of solutions using concrete.
