There are over 500 tall buildings being forecast for London, where ‘tall’ is 20 storeys or more. Of these over 90% are residential and will deliver more than 100,000 new homes. Most of these tall buildings will be constructed in concrete as Its strength, robustness, fire and acoustic performance make concrete the ideal choice for high-rise residential buildings.
This webinar will discuss the benefits that concrete can bring to the construction and in-use requirements. It will also look at the some of the aspects of design that are different when designing a tall building rather than a low-rise building, and discuss some of the options for the concrete frame including precast and hybrid solutions available to specifiers.
