Comparison of embodied carbon in concrete structural systems
|Publisher:||MPA The Concrete Centre
Significant reductions can be made to the embodied carbon in concrete framed buildings by changing the structural system. In this document the focus is on the impact of structural design rather than the impact of concrete mix design. This preview document provides designers with the information to choose the most efficient design available as a standard system. It is possible that even more efficient designs are possible using systems that are not readily available in the UK. The focus of this short guide is readily available systems, such that carbon savings can be made now.
