Jenny Burridge, head of structural engineering, The Concrete Centre
Jenny is a chartered civil and structural engineer with more than 30 years' experience in the construction industry. She has worked for ARUP and AECOM designing award-winning buildings, both in the UK and Europe. Jenny is chair of the BSI advisory committee on Engineering design and construction and sits on Council of CONSTRUCT. She also represents the UK on the task group for the revision to the fire part of EC2.
James Franklin, Head of BIM & Digital, Kier Strategic Projects
After 10 years in the IT sector in the UK and Australia, James Franklin retrained as a Civil Engineer to be closer to the action. With 12 years’ experience in major projects, eight of those focusing on BIM, James’s current passion and vocation is driving the implementation of digital technology and workflow to deliver efficiencies. Kier Strategic Projects is pioneering a step-change in digital delivery, supporting their system-agnostic approach to offsite manufacture by pushing the boundaries of BIM Level 2 across multiple threads: bringing together digital design, data-rich decision making, 4D, 5D, FieldBIM, digital training schemes, site drone capture and a digital-first culture.
Tony Jones - Principal Structural Engineer, MPA The Concrete Centre.
Tony is a Structural Engineer with 30 years of experience in design, research and investigation of Concrete Structures. His role is to support users of concrete through the changes to fire guidance to ensure fire safe structures. In his previous role he provided advice to project teams on the design of structures for fire. He chaired the advisory group for the BRE report “Concrete Structures in Fire performance design and analysis”. He has also been involved in the assessment of fire damaged buildings. Tony is the UK Head of Delegation on the European design committee which is responsible for Eurocode 2, Design of Concrete Structures, including the fire part.
