New concrete bridge guidance

A new guidance document from The Concrete Centre explains why, due to its long-term strength and versatility, concrete should be the preferred choice for bridge construction.

The guide, 'Concrete Bridges: The benefits of concrete in bridge design and construction', explains how to realise the advantages of concrete in bridges by outlining how to detail for durability and low maintenance. It demonstrates how to realise the functional and aesthetic versatility of concrete and how to build bridges that are both economic and sustainable. In addition, the guide highlights the range of bridge types and the different high performance concretes that can provide opportunities for greater economies, durability and artistic expression.
 
Include within the document are a number of concrete bridge case studies.
